Fall Fellowship 2010

December 3-5, 2010

Fall FellowshipAs most of you know, Fall Fellowship is a time of relaxing and... well, fellowship. That's why, on December 3-5, members of the Abooikpaagun Lodge met at Camp DeSoto to engage in this annual event that we all look forward to so much. For four of those attendees, this event marked a high honor.

Truitt Key, Nathaniel Wray, Curtis Lagrone, and Clint Knighton all received the Vigil Honor this year. The Vigil is the highest honor one can be given in the Order of the Arrow. It requires one to serve selflessly for the sake of others as a Brotherhood member of our Order for a least two years, then the candidate must have their candidacy voted upon by a selected group of youth members of our Lodge. Earning this was no easy task and the fact that these four Arrowmen were even considered says a great deal about their devotion to the high ideals of Scouting that we all hold dear. Congratulations, brothers. You have made us proud.

Now, the Vigil Honor presentation may be a big part of Fall Fellowship, but we can't leave out all of the food, fun, and general "hanging out" that everyone got to enjoy. Each meal was bountiful. No one was ever bored. In fact, everyone became so engulfed in the excitement that they actually ended up working on our OA Lodge building, getting the inside painted up nice and pretty. Er, I mean, manly. Nice and manly.

Saturday night, in accordance with Lodge schedule, we held our annual Lodge Officer elections. The results of these elections are as follows:

  • Lodge Chief: Truitt Key
  • Vice-Chief: Hayden Nooner
  • Vice-Chief Arrowman Activities: Jonathan Dillard
  • Vice-Chief Indian Affairs: Andisheah Dadgar
  • Vice-Chief Public Relations: Brett Carter

I'm sure that these new officers will do a superb job at keeping us pretty much the greatest Lodge in existence.

Stepping down to the new guy,

The Nich Miller
